PC building accessories that you must have

Are you planning to build your own PC? If you are, before starting the process, you should check this list of the most important PC building accessories.

These tools are very important and if you don’t have them, you may have to stop PC building in the mid-way and buy those accessories to restart it. So, why not buy them first?

Don’t worry, these accessories are not too expensive, you can easily afford it. In lemon terms, these PC building accessories I am gonna mention in this post are small but very beneficial for PC building.

The most important PC building accessories  you should have:

There are tons of things needed before you can actually start building your own PC, but in this post, I am not gonna discuss the accessories which you are not gonna use practically.

Meaning, I am doing PC building from the last 10 years and here I write about those accessories which I think are helpful in hand while building your own PC.

So, don’t surprise to see some different accessories in this post than usually experts recommend.

As my personal experience the most important PC building accessories you should buy before start building your PC are:

  • A set of a screwdriver.
  • a tube of thermal paste (if cooler doesn’t contain pre-applied thermal paste).
  • Anti-static gloves.
  • zip ties.
  • Magnifying glass for beginners.

#1. A set of screwdriver:

This is the most common and important accessory you should have for PC building. I personally don’t prefer screwdrivers with one/fixed head. Since you are not gonna use only one type of screws while building your PC, so a set of screwdrivers with different heads will be perfect for you.

You can change the size of the screwdriver for each type of screws of you have the facility. This is a very small thing but it really impacts big.

Moreover, make sure to buy a magnetic screwdriver kit. Because if a screw slips and fell into the CPU cabinet with an installed motherboard, it can damage the motherboard too if you scratch it by mistake while picking up the screw.

So, if you have a magnetic Screwdriver you can easily pick that screw up with the help of it. That’s why make sure to buy a screwdriver for PC building following these tips:

  • Always buy a set of screwdrivers than buying only one.
  • Make sure your screwdriver has magnetic effect, it makes things way easier.

Can’t decide which one to buy? Don’t worry, here is a good set of screwdriver I am using for PC building:

XOOL 80 in 1 Precision screwdriver kit:

This magnetic screwdriver kit is just awesome. It is very solid, contains 80 screwdrivers and most importantly affordable.

As I suggested you, this screwdriver pack also has magnetic effect. You can buy it or if you have one, don’t have to buy a new one.

#2. A tube of thermal paste:

This is not for everyone. Some CPU coolers come with pre-applied thermal paste. But, some not.

So you just have to check if your cooler has pre-applied thermal paste or not. If not, you should buy one and paste it on your CPU. It is very important to apply thermal paste above your CPU for better cooling.

Otherwise, the CPU cooler can’t reduce the heat properly from the CPU. So, make sure to do this step before building your PC.

You can buy a thermal from below:

This thermal paste is a very good one and especially it is affordable. You can buy it around from amazon:

#3. Anti-static gloves:

Do you know your body is filled with static electricity and it can be transferred to other PC parts like motherboard, CPU, GPU if you touch the circuit?

That’s why it is advised to wear anti-static gears before PC building so that static electricity can’t be transferred from your body to other PC parts and they got corrupted.

Now it doesn’t mean you have to properly gear up with hand gloves, anti-static bands? If you take care of some really simple things, you don’t have to wear anything. Now, what are those preventions?

Here are some simple things applying which you can easily build your PC without wearing any anti-static materials:

Make sure to hold your PC parts sideways:

It is very important to hold PC parts like motherboards, CPU, GPU from their sides. Don’t touch their circuit if you are barehanded. This can transfer static electricity from your hand to the parts.

Don’t directly touch the ground:

While building your PC, you should stand on any carpet so the static electricity can’t transfer to your body. This is a really simple but effective method.

If you can follow these above steps, I don’t think static electricity causes any problem for you while building your PC. But, if you are a complete beginner, I recommend anti-static gears.

#4. Applying Zip ties:

If you don’t have zip ties in your house, please buy some because if you want to make your PC look clean, wanna do good cable management, zip tiles are the ones that can help you in this purpose.

You can tighten up all the cables in the backside of your case for a neat and clean look of your PC. So, don’t forget to use them.

#5. Magnifying glass for beginners:

I know many of you thinking what is the purpose of a magnifying glass in PC building?

Well, it hard to read the text written on the motherboard, which slot goes where. Obviously, after building two-three PCs you get an idea about it and you can easily connect any circuit to the motherboards.

But, in case of if you are building your own PC for the first time, a magnifying glass can help you very much.

Don’t have a magnifying gas? Don’t worry if you don’t have any magnifying glass in your house, don’t need to buy. If you look carefully in the manual of your motherboard, you can easily fix that up.
