Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090Most powerful GPU currently, but expensive ($1500)
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070Best budget GPU, provides 4K gaming ($500)

#1. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080:

If you are looking for a graphics card under $700 specifically for tasks like 4K gaming, video editing, other high resource needed works, this GPU will be the best one for this purpose.

Best Graphics Cards for Ryzen 9 5950X

However, this isn’t the best GPU available in the market but it is definitely the second most powerful GPU with an awesome price-to-performance ratio from Nvidia.

The price of RTX 3080 is around $699 (the founder’s edition), comparing to the previous generation GPUs this is much cheaper than its performance. Talking about the performance, it can run almost 90% of games (as I noticed) at 4K 60+ fps.

So, it is a great value for money product. With CPUs like Ryzen 9 5950X, it is gonna perfectly match and increase the performance at an awesome rate.

It comes with 1.71GHz Boost clock and 10GB VRAM option. Now, 10GB VRAM seems to be a bit low, because most of the games use this much at 4K gaming. So, this is one demerit of it.

It is based on GDDR6X memory type, which is faster than its previous generation i.e. GDDR6. Also, it uses Samsung 8N processor, which actually makes a huge impact.

So, for high-end tasks with Ryzen 9 5950X, it will be very good. The cores and threads will help you in achieving great multi-core performance and as the single-core performance of this CPU is also awesome, this GPU can help you in single-core tasks like gaming too.

Specifications:

  • It is based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture.
  • It comes with a base clock speed of 1.44GHz that can be boosted up to 1.71GHz.
  • It comes with 10GB GDDR6X VRAM.
  • This GPU comes with 2nd gen. Ray tracing and supports DLSS.
  • The required power supply is 750W (850W recommended).
  • It uses 320-bit memory interface.

Benchmark in games:

Here is the benchmark of RTX 3080 in some games:

GamesResolutionFrame per second (fps)
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey4K ultra75 fps
Red Dead Redemption 24K ultra70 fps
Horizon Zero Dawn4K ultra77 fps
Battlefield V4K ultra64 fps
Forza Horizon 44K ultra130 fps
Metro Exodus4K ultra67 fps
Control4K ultra57 fps

My opinion:

If you want to get good graphics performance I suggest RTX 3080. You can also go with options like RTX 3090 (which is my 2nd option) but it is very expensive.

So, to match the performance level with this CPU, you can buy RTX 3080.

Pros:

  • Great price to performance ratio.
  • Can run games at 4K 60+fps.

Cons:

  • 10GB VRAM seems to be not enough.

#2. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090:

Now if you want the best performance possible in the market, basically no issues with the budget, RTX 3090 is the best one till now. The founder’s edition costs around $1500 which obviously varies with the aftermarket cards.

Because of its price only I have put it in the 2nd position of my list. Otherwise, this is the most powerful GPU.

It can run games upto 8K resolution. But definitely not that 60+fps, but still playable. But for 4K gaming this GPU is just awesome. And with Ryzen 9 5090X this graphics cards is the best option only if you have the budget. Otherwise, you can totally go with other cards like RTX 3080.

Talking about its technical specifications, RTX 3090 is based on Nvidia’s new Ampere architecture. it comes with 24GB GDDR6X VRAM and with 10496 CUDA cores. The base clock speed of it is around 1.40GHz and the boost clock speed is around 1.70GHz. It uses a 384-bit memory interface.

The 2nd gen. Ray tracing features also enhance the overall graphics pretty well. Also, as is a very bulky card with 313mm length and 138 widths, make sure your PC case has enough space for it (covers 3 slots).

The recommended power supply of this GPU is around 750W, so keep an eye on that too.

Specifications:

  • It is based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture.
  • The base clock speed of it is 1.40GHz and the boosted clock speed is 1.70GHz.
  • It comes with 24GB GDDR6X VRAM.
  • This GPU comes with 2nd gen. Ray tracing and supports DLSS.
  • The required power supply is 750W (850W recommended).
  • It uses 382-bit memory interface.

Benchmark in games:

Here are benchmark of RTX 3090 in some games:

My opinion:

Personally, I only recommend this GPU for those who need the best PC possible (pros). Otherwise, there is no meaning in spending $1500 only for the GPU. Still, if you don’t have any issues with the budget, surely you can go with it. It is the best graphics card.

Also, as Ryzen 9 5950X is the best CPU with the best GPU you PC will become a monster.

Pros:

  • Best performance available in the market.
  • 24GB GDDR6X VRAM.

Cons:

  • Too expensive.

#3. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070:

Now here comes the best budget graphics card. Still, it is capable of RTX 2080Ti level 4K gaming at half of that’s the price.

RTX 3070 is based on Nvidia’s new Ampere architecture and comes with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. So, you don’t get the lastest i.e. GDDR6X memory type in this GPU. But seeing the price, this is also not bad at all.

Best Graphics Cards for Ryzen 9 5950X

It comes with 5888 Nvidia CUDA cores and has 1.5GHz clock speed that can be overclocked up to 1.73GHz. RTX 3070 uses 256-bit memory interface and supports DLSS and 2nd gen. Ray tracing.

If you use this GPU, the recommended power supply is around 650W. But if you use many RGB components 750W PSU is better for you.

Specifications:

  • It is based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture.
  • The base clock speed of it is 1.50GHz and the boosted clock speed is 1.73GHz.
  • It comes with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM.
  • This GPU comes with 2nd gen. Ray tracing and supports DLSS.
  • The required power supply is 650W.
  • It uses 256-bit memory interface.
  • Uses 2 slots, so not that big.

My opinion:

If you have $500 budget for GPU you are good to go with RTX 3070. Overall, you can think of it like RTX 2080. Also, it can sometimes beat the 2080Ti too. So, you can definitely play games at 4K resolution with this GPU.

So, I would say with Ryzen 9 5950X, this is a perfect budget GPU.

Pros:

  • 2080 level performance in $500 (Nvidia claims it will beat RTX 2080Ti).
  • Can run games at 4K resolution.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t has GDDR6X.

Conclusion:

In a line, if you have budget go with RTX 3090, want to play games at 4K 60+fps, go with RTX 3080, and need a budget GPU then go with RTX 3070.
