Best graphics card for the money

Best graphics card for the money

There are tons of graphics cards available in the market for gaming. But, when it comes to actually choose one from them in your budget, it becomes very frustrating, right?

That’s why today I am gonna be discussing the best graphics cards for the money. Let’s find out which GPU is perfect for you in your budget-

Entry-level ($150-$300):

As we all know, this is the basic and the minimum budget range for buying a graphics card. Obviously you are not gonna get 4K gaming with the GPUs in this category, but surely 1080P gaming.

Now, I only recommend these GPUs if you are just playing games for entertainment, have a strict budget. For professionals, this category is not suitable, since all the GPUs mentioned here are entry-level.

I will discuss the launch price of GPUs in this post, otherwise, it will be hard to compare the price of different GPUs since the price always fluctuates.

GTX 1650 super:

If you are thinking of buying the cheapest graphics card for gaming, please don’t go below 1650 super. If you choose a weaker GPU than it, that probably can’t run all the latest games.

That’s why I don’t recommend buying a weaker GPU than 1650 super.

GTX 1650 comes with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM. The clock speed of it is around 1750 MHz, which can be boosted up to 1755 MHz.

It is launched around $160, and according to me, this is the minimum entry-level GPU you should go with for gaming.

Benchmark in games of this GPU:

GamesResolutionframe per second
Rainbow six siege1080P ultra136 fps
Assassin creed odyssey1080P ultra65 fps
GTA V1080P ultra75 fps
Battlefield V1080P ultra52 fps

Price:

The launch price of GTX 1650 super is $159.

GTX 1660 super:

If you want something more powerful from 1560 super, under $300, GTX 1660 super will be the best option for you.

With this GPU, you can play all the latest Graphics heavy titles in 1080P medium-maximum settings. Although, in some games, you have to disable some advanced graphics settings to play at 1080P maximum, but under $300 it is a very good option.

This GTX 1660 super comes with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM that runs on 192-bit memory bus. Its basic clock speed of this GPU is around 1800 MHz and it can be boosted up to 1815MHz.

So, if you are satisfied with 1080P max settings gaming, this could be the best budget option for you.

Benchmark in games:

GamesResolutionframe per second
Rainbow six siege1080P ultra156 fps
Assassin creed odyssey1080P ultra68 fps
GTA V1080P ultra95 fps
Battlefield V1080P ultra74 fps

Price:

The launch price of GTX 1650 super is $229.

Mid-range ($400-$500):

If you are looking for a graphics card in this budget range, bingo, you are the mid-range guy. I know it is heartbreaking after spending $500, you fall in the mid-range zone, but in the case of graphics cards, this is the saddest truth:)

However, if you select GPUs from these two, you can play all the latest games 1080P maximum, and for almost 3-5 years in the future.

RTX 2060 super:

RTX 2060 super is capable of good gaming, and some other high-end tasks like video editing, 3d modeling, etc. If you ask me for a decent GPU for 1080P gaming which is future proof for at least 5 years, this GPU will be definitely in my list in the mid-range section.

I know, the GPUs I have mentioned above can also give the 1080P gaming, but with 2060 super, you get more fps, and also it is gonna supports the latest games for long.

Talking about its specifications, it comes with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM. The clock speed of this GPU is around 1665 MHz. And it runs on 256-bit memory bus.

Benchmark in games:

GamesResolutionframe per second
The shadow of the Tomb Raider1080P ultra87 fps
Assassin creed odyssey1080P ultra73 fps
GTA V1080P ultra103 fps
Battlefield V1080P ultra77 fps

Price:

The launch price of RTX 2060 super is $399.

RTX 2070 super:

Now I say this GPU a multitasker. Because it can run games up to 4K resolution. I know it can’t maintain the sweet spot of 4K 60 fps always, but this card can run games in 4K

You can also play at 1080p with this GPU, it gives 80+ fps always (as far I observed it) and in some games, it gives 4K 60fps whereas in some high resource wanting games it gives 4K 30-45fps. Read more about its 4K performance below:

RTX 2070 super comes with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM and runs of 256-bit memory bus. The clock speed of this GPU is around 1815 MHz which can be boosted upto 1830 MHz.

Premium ($601 and beyond):

Now, if you think you are in this category, I don’t think you are looking for below 4K. Because, the cards I am gonna discuss in this price range all are gonna be give awesome 4K gaming.

RTX 2080 super:

If you are really passionate about gaming but don’t have budget for 2080Ti, I highly recommend going with this card since it can also give awesome 4K performance, however, can’t run games like 2080Ti.

Also, if you are thinking of buying the general versions of these GPUs i.e. RTX 2080, 2070, etc, I don’t think they are suitable now because-

  • They are old models.
  • The newer cards, super are less costly.
  • The performance of new cards are better.
  • The super cards are more future proof since they are latest ones.

So, I highly recommend going with super cards if you want good performance in the budget.

RTX 2080 super comes with 8GB GDDR5 VRAM. The core clock speed of this GPU is around 1845MHz.

Also, if you want to utilize the ray tracing features, introduced by Nvidia, you can do it easily with this GPU.

So, for budget 4K gaming, this GPU is the best, according to me. It can maintain 4K 60 fps in most of the games while in some resource-heavy (10% approx) the fps fluctuates between 45-60, but not unplayable.

However after 4-5 years, with this GPU you might shift to 1080P in some games, but still, it is a good option for 4K gaming.

Benchmark in some games:

GamesResolutionframe per second
The shadow of the Tomb Raider4K ultra63 fps
Rainbow six siege4K ultra87 fps
GTA V4K ultra80 fps
Battlefield V4K ultra67 fps

Price:

The launch price of RTX 2060 super is $699.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080Ti:

Till now it is the best GPU available in the market. With this, you can easily run all the latest games in 4K resolution and more than 60 fps. However, this card is expensive as hell, but after two months of savings, I finally managed to buy it.

I am using it for a month now and never come below 4K. So, I am really impressed with its performance. But, I am not saying it worth its money, definitely not.

Because it can give only a little bit of improvement from 2080 super, but we can see a huge price difference between these two GPUs.

It comes with 11GB GDDR6 VRAM and runs on 352-bit memory bus. It also supports real-time ray tracing. The clock speed is 1665MHz.

So, for 4K gaming this is the best GPU available.

Benchmark in games:

Assassin creed odyssey4K ultra76 fps
GTA V4K ultra85 fps
Battlefield V4K ultra83 fps

Price:

The launch price of RTX 2080Ti is $1,199.
